A woman; a gun; a dog; and the bird.....what a great day for a hunt! Timing is everything with pheasant hunting...especially for the photographer. Husband, Del (L) takes aim with a partner in back up mode. Bird? Letting the dog work, while keeping him safe is always a good practice! Noted outdoor photographer and hunter, Rick E. Martin got his turn! Dogs Hawk and Rascal take a break with Jenna their handler, who is also the daughter of WU Manager, Rick Copeland.

A photographer's dream is to have the light just right, the sun at a complimentary angle, and the subjects doing exactly what they should be doing at precisely the right moment (oh, and in the good light too). Well, that happened for us on a recent pheasant hunt on the licensed Game Bird Club of Wilderness Unlimited near Williams, CA. Birds were abundant and the dogs were awesome! Pheasant hunting is a wonderful sport for dogs and hunters. As a photographer, I was able to enjoy the shooting and hunting, while snapping photos of bird dogs, bird hunters and dog trainers.  It was a great time for all. Enjoy.... Stacie
